| ||General comments:||I traded a perfectly good 2001 RX300 for my new RX330. There are many notable improvements. The ride has a heavier feel, more substandial. Its quieter, has more space up front. Improved memory seating which now includes side mirriors settings. They have increased the horse power but it's hardly noticable because its heavier. A five speed transmission vs the previous 4 speed. Overall more goodies for the same price and one of the reasons why I bought it. For me this was as much a financial transaction as a car purchase. The car cost me $4 more each month than my previous payment but the real reason for this move has more to due with the dollar than any great improvement in the car. If you haven't noticed lately the dollar is falling like a rock against the yen. Lexus hasn't changed the prices yet but in two years Japanese cars will be at least 20% higher. Meanwhile interest rates are still low and they will surely head higher when you know who is reelected. So if you're interested in a Japanese car, run do not walk to your nearest dealer.|
| ||What things have gone wrong with the car:||In keeping with the new trend for larger wheels like everyone else Lexus has opted for low profile tires. This compromises an otherwise great ride especially when on bumpy pavement which can produce a surprising choppy ride. They should make the the low profile tire an option for those who prefer looks over ride. Sooner or later Lexus needs to replace this old engine with one that is smoother more powerful and hopefully quieter. Here Nissen has shown the way.|
